Today’s video has the following in commom from yesterday’s video: A. R. Rahman‘s music and Aishwarya Rai ‘s dancing.

From  guru2.jpgGuru, (2007) “Tere Bina”, another beautiful song from A. R. Rahman,  with lyrics by Gulzar, and I admit it brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard it, and still can. A. R. Rahman &  Gulzar, sure can manipulate the tears from my eyes, damn them! I wonder if I actually understood more than a few words in Hindi if the song would have more or less influence? I also love the dialogue at the end of the scene:

Sujata (Aishwarya Rai ) : “Fight with the whole world, but not with me.”

Guru (Abhishek Bachchan: If you’re with me, I can beat the whole world.”

So I challenge you to watch and NOT cry, can you? Well maybe men can, but ladies?

We discussed Dance Dance in yesterday’s post, but that’s not enough! I must add more. WOW! Look what happens in the opening credits of  Dance Dance ! First there’s the fabulous song, “Zooby Zooby Zooby” sung by playback singer, Alisha Chinoy AKA the “Indian Madonna”, and currently a judge on “Indian Idol 3.” Who is the actress that plays Sita?  Look at the evil A.M. Singh, played by Amrish Puri. Look at the special powers ring he wears! All this in the opening credits! And some say they don’t have time for Bollywood! Forgive them father, they know not what they say, they hath not seen the opening credits for  Dance Dance .

and the bummer re-mix, part II of “Zooby Zooby Zooby,” after Sita is kidnapped! Sing along with the lyrics!

Once, Shyam and Sita go to perform in Jalpaiguri to get some money, since they are in a poor status and they have to pay a monthly rent. While performing in Jalpaiguri, Sita catchs the eye of a rich and powerful man called A.M. Singh (Amrish Puri). He stops them in the mid way home, kills Shyam and rapes Sita. Radha and Ramu get the news that their parents are dead. The house proprietor banishes them and they become homeless. Years later, Radha and Ramu have achieved success and are popular singers now. Ramu falls in love with Janita (Mandakini) and Radha gets married to Resham (Shakti Kapoor), who is their troupe member. They all sing and perform together. However, Resham becomes different and strange…(wikepedia)

Watch  Mithun Chakraborty  dance here with Mandakini and his character has no idea his long lost mother, Sita, is watching from the sidelines:

and here’s another video from the same movie, this time Romeo is sharabi, and there are some tight slaps to the face:
